Crop tops are “a must have” in your wardrobe. I designed this band crop top a month ago for my birthday; I made it on the day of my birthday. I made two tops that day, one for a friend. I used piece remaining from a dress I made for my mom. I sew really fast; it took me an hour to finish, that’s including making the pattern.
When you’re ready, these are what you will need to make yours;
1 yard thick stretch fabric
Thread to match your fabric
Band crop top pattern
Download the pattern and cut your fabric. You can use a contrast fabric for the back to spice it up.
Hem the back; there are three back pieces, hem the back top bottom, the back middle edges and the bottom top edge. Look at the pictures for directions.
Place your two backs right sides together with the front, pin and stitch across the shoulders.
Turn in the entire neckline edge 1/2 inch, pin and stitch round, on the edge.
Sew side seams. Try on your crop top to check the fitting and make the necessary adjustment before you proceed to the next step.
Turn in the armholes ½ inch to the wrong side, pin and stitch on the edge.
Trim the side seam, pin the side edge to the front back part of the crop top (to avoid the rough side seams edges from showing at the back) and sew straight down, do the same for the other side seam.
Hem the bottom. viola! download the pattern here
